Scott specialises in providing investment advisory and consultancy services to Institutions, Not-for-Profit organisations and Trusts. In particular, Scott specialises in providing investment advice to Board and Committee members and Trustees with a focus on the measurement of performance against relevant benchmarks and peers.
During his more than 12 year career in financial markets, Scott has gained significant practical experience in managing institutional investment funds in accordance with rules codified in the relevant SIPO. This assists Boards, Committees and Trustees in effectively supervising, evaluating and monitoring performance. This enables Board and Committee members and Trustees to ensure investments are managed to the highest standard of fiduciary care. Scott focuses on ensuring investment funds are managed consistently with the need, required rate of return and objectives of the relevant organisation.
As a CFA charterholder, Scott has particular expertise in the review, analysis and drafting of; SIPOs, Investment Policy Statements (IPSs), portfolio reports, portfolio construction, portfolio performance attribution and security analysis. This makes him ideally suited to reporting to Boards, Committees and Trustees.
Scott graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2001 with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics and, after joining the wealth management industry, went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies – Personal Financial Planning through Massey University in 2005.
Scott is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). As a member of the CFA Institute he is bound by the CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. He is also a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) and bound by the IFA’s Code of Ethics, Practice Standards and Bylaws.
