Todd has been in financial services for 18 years, starting out in 1993 in Accounting at Ernst and Young’s Business Advisory Division in Dunedin. Following the completion of his Chartered Accounting qualification, Todd moved to Australia, where he worked in the Funds Management industry.
Todd held roles at Macquarie Bank, MLC and Perpetual. At Perpetual he was head of the Product Development and Management Division, overseeing the Masterfund, Wrap, and Unit Trust products with over $30 billion in funds under management. This role gave Todd experience with many investment options and strategies, as well as the opportunity to work for a variety of institutional clients. Through this involvement, Todd gained first-hand experience in how manager-picking and other active management strategies did not benefit clients.
In 2007 Todd and his family decided to return home from Australia. Todd completed his Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and commenced discussions with providers of comprehensive advice. He was delighted to find Bradley Nuttall, a firm that uses rigorous, prudent, and academically sound investment methods free from speculative strategies, which add cost and no long-term benefit.
Todd is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers, and of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). As a member of Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) he is bound by the IFA’s Code of Ethics, Practice Standards and Bylaws.
